This Cookie Policy explains how NoticeFiled, a service operated by Mercurion LLC (“NoticeFiled,” “we,” “us”), uses cookies and similar browser storage on this website.
The short version
We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or building profiles about you, and our analytics are cookieless. The only cookies set through your use of NoticeFiled come from our payment processor during checkout, to process your payment and prevent fraud. We also store one small technical flag in your browser so our cookie notice doesn't keep reappearing.
Cookies vs. local storage
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser and sends back to a server on each request. Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps a small amount of data in your browser only — it is never sent to a server. NoticeFiled uses one local-storage entry and, during checkout, essential payment cookies, both described below. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we use and store
- Cookie-notice acknowledgement (local storage). When you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the screen, we save a single value in your browser's local storage (named
nf-cookie-notice-dismissed) so we know not to show the notice again. It contains no personal information and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. - Payment and fraud-prevention cookies (Stripe). When you proceed to payment, our payment processor, Stripe, sets cookies that are necessary to process your payment securely and to detect and prevent fraud. These are essential to completing a purchase.
- Cookieless analytics (Vercel Web Analytics). We measure general site traffic using privacy-friendly analytics that do not set cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not build advertising profiles.
What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social-media or third-party tracking pixels.
- No cross-site tracking of any kind.
Third-party services
Aside from the essential Stripe payment cookies described above, the services we rely on to run NoticeFiled — our hosting, database, email, and AI providers — operate server-side and do not set cookies in your browser through this website.
Managing browser storage
You can clear the cookie-notice flag at any time through your browser's “clear site data” or storage settings; if you do, the cookie notice will simply appear again on your next visit. The Stripe payment cookies are essential to completing a purchase and cannot be turned off while still checking out. Because our analytics are cookieless, there is nothing there to opt out of.
Changes to this policy
If we begin using cookies or other browser storage beyond what's described here, we will update this page with a new effective date and, where appropriate, update our cookie notice. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Governing language
This document is provided in English and Spanish for convenience. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the two versions, the English version governs and controls.
