Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NoticeFiled, a service operated by Mercurion LLC (“NoticeFiled,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website and service.
Information we collect
- Notices and documents you submit. When you use the service, you upload or photograph an IRS notice — currently the CP2000 — and may provide related information. These contain sensitive tax and personal information. We use them to analyze your notice and generate your response letter.
- Account and order information. When you place an order, we create an order record that includes your email address, the notice type and tax year, the analysis and response letter we generate for you, and your order status — so we can deliver your materials and let you retrieve them later.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
- Contact form details. If you message us through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you select, and the contents of your message so we can respond.
- Waitlist email. If you join our early-access list, we collect your email address and a small internal note of which page the sign-up came from.
- Usage and analytics data. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand general site traffic, such as page views and referring sources. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build advertising profiles about you. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: to read and analyze your specific notice, generate your personalized response letter, deliver it to you, and make it available for you to retrieve.
- To process your payment.
- To communicate with you about your order — confirmations, your analysis and letter, your order status, and any applicable deadline — and to send occasional follow-up communications, such as checking whether you have heard back from the IRS or sending seasonal reminders. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
How your information is stored and shared
We use automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to analyze your notice and generate your response letter. Depending on how the service is configured, this processing may be performed using our own systems or with third-party providers acting on our behalf, under agreements that permit them to use your information only to provide this processing to us and not for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate NoticeFiled, under agreements that limit how they may use it:
- Supabase — our database and storage provider, where your account and order records and your generated letter are kept.
- Stripe — our payment processor.
- Resend — our email provider, used to deliver your materials and our communications to you.
- Vercel — our website hosting and cookieless-analytics provider.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Security
Information you submit is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access restricted to those who need it to operate the service. Your generated letter is retrievable only through a secure, non-guessable link tied to your order. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information, particularly given the sensitivity of tax documents.
Data retention
We retain the notice you submit and the response letter we generate for approximately 18 months — so you can retrieve your materials and we can help with any follow-up — after which we delete or anonymize them. We keep order and payment records for as long as needed to meet our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Waitlist emails and contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed for those purposes. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see below).
Your rights and choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information — including the notice you submitted and the letter we generated, and removal from any list — at any time through our contact form. You can unsubscribe from non-essential communications using the link in those emails.
Children's privacy
NoticeFiled is intended for adults (18 and older) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
Operator and governing law
NoticeFiled is operated by Mercurion LLC. This policy and our handling of your information are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
